Blue Rose Thread Lifting is a procedure that places absorbable threads beneath the skin to support sagging tissue and complement facial contours. We examine sagging in the cheeks and jawline to plan which areas to lift and in which direction.
Even with the same jawline concern, the degree of skin laxity, the amount of fat, and the location of sunken areas differ from person to person. At WayB, we determine the scope of the procedure by checking overall facial volume and expression movement together.
Blue Rose Forte and Multi are absorbable threads made of PDO, or polydioxanone.
Forte is used for tissue support and improvement of skin condition based on the thread’s structure. Multi uses a cog design — protrusions that catch onto tissue — to pull and support tissue. The product is selected by examining skin thickness, the direction of sagging, and the scope of support needed.
Cog threads have protrusions that grip tissue, allowing them to hook and pull sagging tissue to support it.
Mono threads are smooth threads without protrusions. Rather than hooking and pulling tissue, they are used to improve skin elasticity through the recovery response and collagen formation around the thread.
The choice depends on whether tissue needs to be lifted or skin elasticity needs to be improved. The effect is not determined by the number of threads alone; the type of thread and the position, direction, and depth of application are considered together.
Mono thread is a procedure that inserts a fine, absorbable thread without protrusions beneath the skin. It is a form of thread-insertion procedure known as “maeseon” (thread embedding), and it helps improve skin elasticity and fine wrinkles through the recovery response and collagen formation around the thread.
The micro-stimulation that occurs during thread insertion, along with the tissue’s response to the thread, induces the skin’s recovery process.
As collagen-producing fibroblasts are activated, new collagen and connective tissue form around the thread.
PDO threads gradually break down and are absorbed over time, and the surrounding tissue undergoes a remodeling process.
This is used for the purpose of improving skin elasticity and fine wrinkles, and may also be considered as an adjunctive procedure for improving skin texture in areas with stretch marks. The response to the procedure may vary depending on skin condition and the timing and depth of the stretch marks.
Topsco is a nose thread-lifting procedure that uses PDO threads to support the tissue of the nose and refine the line of the nasal bridge and tip. It is designed by examining not only the height of the nose but also the profile continuing from the forehead and the proportions of the lips and chin.
The changes that can be achieved differ depending on skin thickness and nasal structure. It differs from surgery that directly corrects the nasal bone or cartilage, and if you have a history of rhinoplasty, nasal filler, or nose thread lifting, the materials used and their timing are checked first.
Jamber is a volumizing thread procedure that uses a densely coiled, spring-shaped PDO thread. The spring structure supports tissue beneath the skin like a small support base, complementing the contour and volume of sunken areas. It also induces collagen formation around the thread, managing skin elasticity at the same time.
Its role differs from that of cog threads, which pull sagging tissue in a specific direction. We examine the degree of sinking, skin thickness, and movement during facial expressions to apply it to the areas that need it.
If sinking rather than sagging is the main cause, we first look at methods to restore volume. In areas where the skin is very thin or fat is minimal, the thread may become visible or the skin may appear indented, so whether to apply it and at what depth is determined carefully.
Please let us know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, any medications you are taking, any conditions or medications that may affect bleeding, and any history of keloids or autoimmune disease. If there is inflammation or infection at the treatment site, treatment for that may be needed first.
We also check any history of previous filler, thread lifting, or surgery. In particular, for nasal procedures, we determine whether the procedure can be performed by checking for implants or existing injected materials and the condition of the skin.
When Blue Rose cog threads are used, the change from tissue being pulled can be seen immediately after the procedure. However, swelling and tightness may appear together in the early period, so we monitor the naturalness of the contour and expressions throughout the recovery process.
The duration of Blue Rose facial thread lifting is typically about 6–18 months, varying depending on the procedure method and skin condition. Topsco and Jamber vary in duration depending on the treatment area and purpose. Because PDO threads are gradually absorbed while inducing collagen formation around them, the effect does not disappear immediately once the thread is absorbed. Afterward, we check changes in lines and volume to plan any additional procedures.
Swelling, bruising, tenderness, tightness, and a foreign-body sensation may occur after the procedure. The skin may appear uneven or an asymmetry may be felt, and thread show-through or exposure, infection, and persistent pain may also occur.
During recovery, avoid pressing hard on or massaging the treatment area. After a nasal procedure, avoid twisting or pressing on the nose, and adjust the wearing of glasses, etc., according to the guidance given.
If sinking or asymmetry worsens significantly, if a thread becomes exposed, or if pain or a sensation of heat worsens or is accompanied by pus or fever, please contact the clinic without delay. Do not pull or cut the thread yourself.
No. Blue Rose focuses on facial lines, Topsco on the nasal line, and Jamber on partial volume and elasticity management. We select the procedure that is needed, and combining them is considered only when concerns overlap.
The PDO threads used at WayB break down and are absorbed over time. The rate of absorption and how long the visible change lasts differ and vary by individual.
The effect is not determined by the number of threads alone. What matters is applying threads suited to skin thickness and tissue condition at the location and in the direction needed.
The procedure is performed after local anesthesia, and you may feel pressure or a pulling sensation during the procedure. Tightness and tenderness may also occur afterward, and the degree and speed of recovery vary by area and individual.
This is decided by considering the direction and degree of sagging, skin thickness, the desired change, and the recovery schedule together. We explain the difference between a procedure that induces a tissue response through energy and one that directly supports tissue with threads, and plan the method that is needed.
In the early period after facial thread lifting, you may feel tightness or awkwardness in your expressions. If discomfort does not decrease or worsens, please let the clinic know regardless of the recovery period.
Swelling and tightness after facial thread lifting are generally expected to last about 3–7 days as a reference, but bruising or discomfort may last longer. Please allow about 2 or more weeks of buffer before important events, and nose or volumizing thread procedures are guided separately according to the area and extent applied.
