What Is Juvelook?

Juvelook is an injectable treatment product that combines the biodegradable polymer PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) with hyaluronic acid. It is considered for managing skin texture, fine lines, and elasticity by making use of the tissue response to PDLLA, which induces collagen production.

We distinguish between the swelling or temporary changes that appear immediately after the procedure and the tissue changes that appear over time. Results vary depending on the product used, the injection method, and skin condition.

Juvelook Skin and Juvelook Volume have different management goals. Whether the focus is on skin texture and fine lines, or on volume correction of hollow areas, is checked first, and the product and treatment plan are chosen accordingly.

What Is the Difference Between Skin and Volume?

Category Juvelook Skin Juvelook Volume
Manufacturer Labeling JUVELOOK JUVELOOK Volume
Common Composition PDLLA and hyaluronic acid PDLLA and hyaluronic acid
Primary Purpose Considered Managing skin condition such as texture and fine lines Gradual volume correction of hollow areas
Selection Criteria Skin texture and fine lines, skin thickness and condition Location and extent of hollowness, volume needed, and surrounding contour

Even under the same brand, the composition and usage plans of the individual products differ. The condition of the treatment area and the outcome you want are checked first, and the injection method is determined to match the characteristics of the product used.

Who Is a Good Candidate?

  • Enlarged-looking pores and rough skin texture (Skin)
  • Reduced collagen with early loss of elasticity
  • Those who want a naturally filled-in change rather than the immediate volume of a filler (Volume)
  • Uneven skin surface due to depressed acne scars

Things to Check Before the Procedure

  • If the goal is an immediate and pronounced volume change, a hyaluronic acid filler may also be considered.
  • If sagging is the main concern: lifting treatments are reviewed first.
  • Keloid tendency, uncontrolled autoimmune disease, or acute inflammation/infection at the treatment site
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding

How Does It Work?

It makes use of the process by which collagen production and tissue change occur through the interaction between PDLLA and skin tissue. Changes in skin texture, wrinkles, and elasticity appear gradually as collagen is produced.

Because collagen production takes time, skin texture and elasticity change gradually. The degree and timing of change vary from person to person.

What Changes Can Be Expected?

Goals are set according to concerns such as skin texture, fine lines, reduced elasticity, or volume loss in hollow areas. Rather than trying to address pores, scars, pigmentation, and sagging all at once with a single procedure, we check the skin condition and plan the most needed care first.

The intended use of the product in Korea is the temporary improvement of facial wrinkles in adults. Whether the treatment matches the desired area and change is confirmed during the consultation.

How Is the Procedure Performed?

  • Consultation: We identify whether pores, skin texture, or volume is the main concern, and determine the Skin/Volume selection and injection scope.
  • Topical Anesthesia: 20–30 minutes.
  • Injection: The product is injected in divided layers and amounts by area. A cannula is used for wider areas.
  • Massage & Soothing: If needed, massage is performed for even distribution, followed by soothing care to finish.

When Do Effects Begin, and How Long Do They Last?

  • Immediately to 1 Week: A sense of hydration and slight volume from the hyaluronic acid. This is temporary.
  • 4–8 Weeks: Collagen regeneration progresses and actual changes appear.
  • After Repeated Treatments: Changes in skin texture, elasticity, and volume are assessed. The duration varies depending on the product, skin condition, and number of sessions, and further treatments are decided based on progress.

Recovery and Precautions

Swelling, bruising, tenderness, lumps, nodules, or inflammatory reactions may occur. Nodules may be related to several factors, including not only injection depth and amount but also product preparation and distribution, and individual tissue response.

If you feel a firm lump, or if redness, pain, or swelling persists or worsens, please notify the clinic. Rather than pressing or massaging the area forcefully on your own, it is best to have your condition checked and follow the clinic’s guidance for care.

  • Swelling lasts about 2–5 days, and bruising about 7–14 days. Allowing 2 weeks of buffer before an important event is recommended.
  • Avoid saunas, strenuous exercise, and alcohol for 48 hours.
  • If specific massage instructions are given after the procedure, please follow them as directed. Pressing forcefully on your own may alter the distribution.

Please Contact the Clinic If

  • You feel a firm lump or nodule
  • Pain, swelling, or redness worsens rapidly, regardless of how much time has passed
  • There is warmth or fever at the treatment site

How WayB Approaches This

  • We plan injections for each area by considering product preparation and distribution, injection depth and amount, and your individual response.
  • Because Skin and Volume serve different purposes, we generally choose between them according to your concerns or schedule them separately, rather than combining them in one session.
  • We adjust anesthesia time and injection speed according to our Comfort Standard.
Frequently asked questions about Juvelook Skin·Volume
FAQ
A.

Skin uses finer particles injected broadly into the dermis to address pores, skin texture, and fine lines, while Volume is a product designed for volume and elasticity in hollow areas. The injection layer and purpose differ.

A.

A filler fills space immediately upon injection, while with Juvelook, change appears as collagen forms over several weeks. If an immediate change is the goal, a filler may also be considered.

A.

The baseline is 2–3 sessions at 4-week intervals. This is adjusted according to skin condition and goals.

A.

It is rare but possible. The causes are varied, including not only injection depth and amount but also individual constitution and response; if a nodule or inflammation occurs, the condition is checked and addressed accordingly. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, Juvelook is not a product that can be easily reversed with a dissolving enzyme — PDLLA particles are not broken down by hyaluronidase.

A.

Since the purposes differ, they are often combined with the timing separated. Whether to combine them, the order, and the interval are determined by checking the products, treatment areas, and recovery status.
